So I received some positive feedback on the blogs I had a brief write up over in the testing blog that some of you may have seen and I decided to recreate that post and expand the listings in it.
To start I recently began really genuinely following blogs due to using Mozilla Thunderbird and it’s RSS reader accompanied by some nice add-ons, but that’s another post entirely. When I began reading and following I decided on 2 things to help me really push for inspiration without distraction.
1) No junk – if it’s a blog with nothing but rants and personal irrelevant opinions than I don’t want to waste my time. I really started seeking for resources not just someones personal blog with no clear goal or concept.
2) Are they doing what I want to be doing. – this was important for me because working online with all the current technologies it’s hard to stay focused on true niches where your talent can really shine. I really wanted to find successes in the areas I want to work full time.
With these considered I have been following the below mentioned contributors with great detail over the last 6 months and have found them to really be a shining examples of a useful blog / designer site.
enjoy and check them out.
1> abduzeedo
This site has been great they provide regular graphic based posts with everything from interviews with artists to best ofs to freebies. I really like them because I interpret the site as a graphic design community where I respect and enjoy the contributors and writers opinions. check it out at least a great daily glance over for good images and trends.
This is another big follow I regularly read their articles and find some great links from them on twitter as well and really consider it to be a really nice educational resource. I regularly use the tutorials to challenge myself and to think out side the box in my designs. I also enjoy their giveaways, they are typically a useful piece of a larger puzzle rather than an unbaked cookie like some sites tend to be. { template sites }
3> Colorburned
This has been yet another great resource to me they constantly provide free high quality brush sets for PS and PS and illustrator tutorials that really have helped me catch on to a whole new style and usage for these tools. definitely a good source for tools.
4> Bittbox

I just recently started to read this one more and more. I really like the texture tuesdays and enjoy the rather expansive content. definitely a read over if I have a few extra minutes or I at least look over the post title for screening through my RSS feeds.
5> Noupe
- http://www.noupe.com/
This one even with the irony of the featured post has been my deeper reading category with everything from using WordPress as a CMS and configuring for proper security to developing Twitter applications in ruby. Yeah kind of a more tech than design blog but truly a great resource for those that are still trying to play both sides of the fence like I myself attempt to.
Thanks to all above listed and their wonderful contributions and I encourage your patronage. Please give them some hits and buy them a cup of coffee.
